Since I have been waiting to begin the final editing process for the story I have coming out over the summer, I’ve been having a little fun with my family. After spending about 8 weeks doing an insane amount of writing, I appreciate having a little more time to give to both myself and my family. And to the house – it got mighty messy in the last two months!
One thing I’ve been doing is spending more time at the beach. Near our house is a longish causeway that separates the mainland from an island chain. My whole family went there the other evening and had such a fun time. There is so much to explore in the shallow water there, including lots of sea life. Here’s a baby horseshoe crab sitting on my leg:
And another shot of hubby holding it, showing the underside:
We also saw conch, conch eggs, tube worms, hermit crabs of all sizes, spider crabs, small fish, and a pod of dolphin right offshore. I am so thankful to live in this amazing place!
